Week Two Assignment- Shutter Speed

I am really enjoying this class! Thank you Brooke for these amazing lessons!

In the past some of the hardest shots for me were of my kids playing sports. I thought once I got a decent camera that would solve it. After getting a camera and only shooting in "auto" at their sporting events it was still not great. This week lesson was just want I needed to help me with this challenge. I haven't got it completely down, but I had so much fun shoting pictures of my kids at a park doing what they do best, exerting energy!

This was tricky and at times impossible. Although I had so much fun trying it.

Week One Assignment

1. "Storytelling" Aperture

This is taken from a park in our neighborhood. Trying to capture a beginning, middle and end with the tree, field, shopping center and Mt. Rainer in the background. (I love to take pictures of Mt. Rainer, but the mountain always seems not as vibrant in the photos as it is in person. Any suggestions?).

Taken with a 55-250mm lens (at a 55mm focus point)

f/18 1/80 ISO 400

f/11 1/200 ISO 400

f/5.6 1/1600 ISO400
2. "Who Cares" Aperture
My two boys and their friend were willing to pose for a picture after a fresh new hair cut. Taken mid-day outside. I like the texture of this building but not as crazy about the color. Although the color in the f/8 is defiantly my favorite.
Taken with a 18-55mm lens. (at 37mm focus point)

f/5 1/200 ISO 400

f/8 1/125 ISO 400

f/18 1/30 ISO400

3. "Singular Theme" Aperture

These little cars are found on my floor everyday. With "Lightning McClain" being the focal point, since
my three year old is anxiously awaiting the next "Cars" movies this summer.
Taken with a 18-55mm lens (at a 35mm focus point)

f/22 6 sec. ISO 400

f/10 1/3 ISO 400

F/5 1/3 ISO 400
